Array Services We Offer
The CAT performs probe labeling for RNA Expression and DNA Genotyping samples and hybridization, staining, washing, and scanning of the arrays as well as feature extraction from raw array image data. Researchers are responsible for sample preparation. We provide an RNA quality control service, as the most frequent cause of failure in an array experiment is poor quality RNA. Sequencing Services We Offer
The Center for Array Technologies offers next-generation sequencing with the Roche/454 Life Sciences Sequencing platform using either FLX or Titanium chemistry. Up to 100 million (FLX) or 500 million (Titatium) bases can be sequenced per run from 10 µg of high-quality, genomic DNA. The average read lengths are 250bp (FLX) or 400bp (Titatium). Runs can be configured to accommodate multiple samples; and data is provided in .fna (FASTA) and associated quality score formats. View Our Sequencing Services

Analysis Services We Offer
In addition, we offer consulting for UW researchers and a training course that includes a review of current DNA microarray technology, experimental design for microarray projects, and basic statistical analysis of microarray data. View Our Other Services

Who We Are
The Center for Array Technologies Recharge Center is a fee-for-service facility. As a service to the UW research community, the CAT provides access to oligo based DNA array technology for three major commercial array platforms: Affymetrix, Agilent, and Illumina. As microarray technology has advanced we have expanded our services beyond expression analysis.
